The Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts’s prestigious opera program will present productions of “Il Turco in Italia” by Rossini, “Zaide” by Mozart, and “Midsummer Night’s Dream” by Britten. Violinist Joshua Bell will perform Bruch’s “Scottish Fantasy” with the National Symphony Orchestra.

Mostly Mozart Festival, New York City

This classical gala features plenty of Mozart, even the rarely-performed oratorio “Davidde Penitente”! Other composers such as Chopin and Schumann will have pieces played as well. Tanglewood Festival, Lenox, MA

This festival runs from June 26 to Sept. 5 in the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Features performances of Mahler’s “Resurrection Symphony” and “Symphony No. 3″, Stravinsky’s “Symphony of Psalms”, and Mozart’s “Requiem”, among many others. Yo-Yo Ma makes an appearance at the festival in Elgar’s Cello Concerto, conducted by Charles Dutoit.
